What is Counselling?

I am fully qualified by the CPCAB and I am a Registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I work with Adults (16+) online or over telephone.

I primarily work from a Person Centred approach which is non-directive that focuses on your own experiences and potential for self growth. I also draw on techniques from CBT and Psychodynamic to tailor therapy to your needs. With kindness and presence, I aim to provide a safe space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings. Counselling is about building a trusting relationship that can bring about change.

I offer remote session appointments either weekly or fortnightly in an open ended way - meaning there is no limit to the number of sessions that can be offered.

Therapy is a journey, healing can take time. If you are ready to start this journey, follow the link below to get in touch.

My Services

Initial Conversation

An Introduction Conversation can be arranged to discuss what brings you to therapy. A 15 minute phone call can be scheduled, for you to get to know a little about me and for me to get to know a little about you. Ultimately it is a  space for both of us to work out what support I may be able to offer you moving forward.

The initial conversation is at no cost to you. This is offered for free to enable you to ask whatever questions you may have before starting therapy.

Emailing and Texting can also be options, should you want an initial chat but don't feel comfortable scheduling a call. I am more than happy to answer any questions and provide further information to help you make the decision going forwrad thats right for you.

If you want to book an introductory conversation, drop me an email or follow the link to fill in the form, explaining your preferred method and this can be arranged.

Telephone Counselling

Telephone counselling can be arranged at a time to suit you. I can either offer Wifi calls, using platforms like WhatsApp or standard telephone calls to any UK registered phone number.

Once scheduled, I will call you each week at a time mutually agreed to have counselling. You will need to ensure you are in a safe place to take the call, this could be on your own in a room at home, even in your car or somewhere private.

Consider your environment, please don't consider having therapy whilst driving or doing an activity as this would not be beneficial or safe.

Telephone counselling can be a preferred method of counselling if you prefer not to be seen, or struggle with technology. It can still be as effective as face-to-face counselling or online counselling, and is a common form of therapy.

If you are ready to book click the link below and fill in the form explaining you want to book telephone counselling.

Online Counselling

Online Counselling can be arranged through a variety of means. I offer online therapy either through  Microsoft Teams, Zoom or  Google Meet. Sessions are secure and encrypted for privacy reasons.

Once scheduled you would be sent a link to access the sessions.

Online Counselling can be scheduled to suit your needs. Similarly to telephone sessions, ensuring you are in a safe and suitable place to have therapy is essential.

Online therapy has become more accepted in recent years, proving as effective as face-to-face counselling. It offers a safe place to work through whatever brings you to therapy, to be present with one another without the commitment of travelling to meet in person. It is a very common form of therapy, proving to be more flexible and accessible.

If you are ready to book click the link below and fill in the form explaining you want to book online counselling.

Counselling

What does it cost?

Counselling costs are £40 per session. Each session lasts 50 minutes.

The costs are the same whether you prefer telephone or online sessions.

Please note all appointments and sessions are payable 24 hours before appointment by bank transfer.

Sessions can be offered either weekly or bi-weekly depending on your availability and preference. You can also book back to back sessions, if you prefer to have longer sessions.

Sessions can either be paid for on an ongoing basis or paid upfront for a set number of sessions.

Sessions which need to be cancelled or re-arranged must be done within 48 hours of the session starting. Sessions not cancelled within this time period are subject to the full charge. If you have paid for sessions upfront and you cancel/re-arrange within the timeframe given, this can either be refunded to you or carried over to a future session.

Is Counselling for me?

There are many forms of support available out there. Counselling is a journey, whether over the phone or online, counselling can provide you a support to whatever you are currently going through, or help you to work through past traumas. If you want to find out more, contact me to arrange an initial conversation.

In my experience, often what people end up working through in therapy is not what they initially come with.

There is also information on the resources page for other ways in which you could gain support.

What happens if I want to cancel?

You are not oblidged to continue therapy and can cancel at any time.

Depending on if you have paid ahead for sessions, any monies due can be refunded to you. Please just note the cancellation period for sessions. Therefore If you wish to cancel/end therapy please just send me an email within 48hours of your next scheduled session to ensure you wont be charged.

Counselling is a journey and I am here to support you, there is no pressure for you to continue on that journey. It is ultimately there for you.
